Here you will find some examples of Digital Metrology's past solutions.

Blend Radius Analysis

Have you ever stopped to think about "what is a corner?"  If you zoom into a corner real closely you'll see all kinds of different shapes as one line transitions into the other. Corners are some of the most difficult features to control - especially if there is supposed to be some kind control (e.g. blend radius) of the shape of the corner.  Digital Metrology's "Blender" software can help you understand your most critical corners:

Multi-Profile Roughness Analysis

The control of surface finish on critical surfaces such as cylinder bores, fuel systems components, deck faces and other sealing surfaces often requires the measurement of multiple locations on a surface.   Multiple measurements are of particular importance in light of the commonly found variations in surface texture.  Unfortunately, most commercial surface texture measuring systems only accommodate a single profile.  Digital Metrology's MultiProf package addresses this need with a convenient spreadsheet-style interface for easy measurement of multiple locations on a surface.

Find out more about multi-profile surface texture analysis in the archived solution.

Harmonic Analysis for Roundness

Bearing raceways and other noise sensitive applications often require special control of surface frequencies.  In these applications, unwanted frequencies in a surface can lead directly to unwanted noise, vibration or other performance issues in application.

Find out more about harmonic analysis for roundness in this archived solution.

Shop Floor Roundness

Just because you don't have a precision spindle doesn't mean that you should be able to measure roundness.  Using a three-probe approach and applying custom mathematics - roundness measurement is simpler than you may think.

A New Architecture for Surface Texture

Surface texture measurements should begin with the component in mind - not the instrument.  Digital Metrology's TraceDirector software does exactly that.

Don't forget the Upgrades!

Many of the technologies employed in these custom solutions can be directly incorporated into instrument upgrades.  Imagine converting your old metrology equipment into a modern instrument with custom capabilities!!!  Be sure to visit the upgrades section to see some instrument examples.
